My hijacked plant!

An update on my herb garden! My "rosemary" plant has bloomed today. (rosemary does not bloom)  After consulting my personal professional gardening expert (aka my mom) and a bit of goggling, we have determined that this plant is actually not rosemary.  I double checked the seed bag and the plant looks nothing like what has grown.  My assumption is a bird gave a little deposit and hijacked planter! surprise! But it does make beautiful flowers! Just doesn't add anything fun to my recipes!

Clayton and I were able to go to North Shore and enjoy the beach! While we were there there was a crowd gathering down the beach from us.  I was hoping it is be a seal so I chose to walk down and check it out! And to my surprise there was a large Turtle!! :)  There was a turtle sanctuary group there to make sure no one touched or hurt the turtle and had a rope up so no one could get closer than 10 feet! They told us it was a 40 year old man.  He was beautiful and so fun to see in real life. Below is a pic of the view that day! So breath taking!!

Tour of the House, Garden and Christmas update!

I have been meaning to take pictures of the house for a long time, and the house was looking clean today so I decided why not!

I had decided that I wanted to start a garden a while ago and now that we are finally settled into our place and have a back yard (how ever small it may be) I am finally able to have one! Starting out small I decided to grow some Herbs.  I planted the seeds in pots to start out with because I have been told the soil is very acidic.  The pots have been sitting in the middle of our lawn to assure they receive enough sunlight and water. But I did not think of any critters stepping in my pots! To the Left is a picture of my basil finally sporting (SOOO  excited) But what I am pretty sure is a stray cat has stepped in the middle of my pot! haha what are you going to do! (I have recently learned that I should have packed the dirt down better by the guru gardener Celeste Reeves, and I appropriate every bit advise I can get on this new journey)
I hope as the other herbs start sprouting I will take more pictures and eventually show some recipes that I used them in!

I know it is a little late but thought I would talk about Christmas. Or as I have heard a lot of people say here Mele Kalikimaka! (Merry Christmas in Hawaiian)
Clayton and I had a wonderful first Christmas!  We were so very blessed this year.  It was just us two this year and it felt so strange not be be around any family but we had each other. Very relaxed, no one to visit no big dinner to be eaten. We were able to Skype almost all of our family and talk on the phone to the rest! Wonderful to see and talk to everyone like always.  Man do I Technology!! It also helps that I was able to spend 2 weeks with my family a week before Christmas! Here is a few pictures of Clayton and I on Christmas
